US Reporter Asks Why Iran’s Marandi is ‘Even Allowed to Breathe?’ As Talks End

A heated online controversy erupted after Israeli-American journalist Emily Schrader posed a ridiculous question why Iran’s Seyed Mohammad Marandi was “even allowed to breathe,” following reports that he had joined Iran’s delegation in Pakistan for regional ceasefire discussions.

“Why the hell is Marandi even allowed to breathe? This guy is a vile terrorist snake,” she tweeted late Saturday.

The comment quickly drew criticism from journalists and political observers, including broadcaster Mehdi Hasan, who argued that such language risked normalizing calls for violence against civilians and public figures during a volatile crisis.

Marandi has long been viewed by western critics as a prominent media voice aligned with Tehran’s positions, frequently appearing on international networks to challenge Western narratives on regional conflicts.

The exchange has reignited debate on X over the limits of political speech online. Some said inflammatory rhetoric from influential media figures can further escalate polarization and make the Iran-US situation even worse.
