SNGPL Limits Gas Supply to Six Hours a Day

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has decided to restrict gas supply to just six hours a day as the ongoing shortage continues to affect households.

Under the revised schedule, consumers will now receive gas twice a day, mainly during breakfast and dinner hours, while supply will remain suspended in the afternoon because of low system pressure.

Officials said the new arrangement was introduced to ensure limited gas availability during peak demand periods only. They added that the worsening shortfall has made it impossible to continue supply three times a day.

According to sources, even maintaining gas flow during the two approved time slots has become difficult due to pressure issues in the network.

The latest disruption has largely been linked to problems in liquefied natural gas imports, which have made it harder for authorities to sustain stable pressure across the system.

The reduced supply is expected to further disrupt routine domestic use, with consumers being urged to use gas carefully and avoid unnecessary consumption.
