Internet Disruptions Worsen in Pakistan as Evening Loadshedding Returns

Internet disruptions are once again causing trouble for users across Pakistan, especially during evening hours when loadshedding begins in many areas.

The issue is not just affecting casual browsing and social media use as users across all mobile networks, like Zong and Jazz, continue to report problems visiting sites and using communication apps. Freelancers, remote workers and online businesses are also feeling the impact as unstable connections disrupt meetings, uploads, client communication and other routine work that depends on reliable internet access.

According to reports, telecom sites rely on backup battery systems during power failures, but those batteries need three to four hours of continuous electricity to fully recharge. With outages returning before that cycle can be completed, network stability is being affected in several areas.

That overlap is now creating a double burden for internet users. In many places, connectivity slows down or becomes unreliable after sunset, exactly when electricity outages begin and network backup systems come under pressure.

While Ufone has issued a statement on the matter, we are still awaiting responses from Jazz and Zong on the matter. Ufone confirmed in a statement that extended and repeated power outages are affecting its ability to maintain uninterrupted service across the country.
