Punjab Approves Expansion of Community Health Services Across Punjab

The Government of Punjab has decided to appoint outsourced community health inspectors and approved a supplementary grant to expand the Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services Program.

The decision aims to strengthen monitoring of healthcare services at the household level and improve access to medical facilities across both urban and rural areas.

Under the program, authorities will focus on maternal and child health, with special attention given to underserved and remote regions.

Officials said the initiative seeks to enhance the availability of healthcare services at people’s doorsteps.

The health department has been directed to ensure swift implementation of the program and develop a new mechanism to monitor the performance of community health inspectors.

Authorities added that priority will be given to public welfare initiatives, with efforts underway to improve service delivery and expand healthcare coverage across the province.
