Ghee and cooking oil prices in Pakistan have risen sharply, highlighting continued inflationary pressure despite fluctuations in petroleum product prices.
According to grocery merchants, the price of first-grade ghee and cooking oil has increased by Rs. 30 per kilogram. As a result, the price has risen from Rs. 560 to Rs. 590 per kilogram.
Similarly, second-grade cooking oil has become more expensive by Rs. 35, increasing from Rs. 510 to Rs. 545 per liter. Meanwhile, the price of second-grade ghee has gone up by Rs. 25 per kilogram, rising from Rs. 510 to Rs. 535 rupees per kilogram.
Traders say that the continued rise in prices is placing an increasing financial burden on everyday consumers.
