Punjab Makes Security Guard Registration Mandatory

The Punjab Home Department has introduced a modern digital registration system for security companies and private guards across the province to improve monitoring and accountability.

Under the new system, registration has been integrated with the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, making it mandatory for all security companies to complete their registration through a dedicated safety application.

Officials said the system will store detailed profiles of security guards, including their qualifications, personal data, and professional records, in a centralised database managed by Safe City authorities.

The new framework will also include criminal record verification by police, enabling authorities to screen guards and companies more effectively.

Sources added that strict action will be taken against unregistered security companies and guards, while all institutions have been directed to ensure complete data sharing with the Safe City Authority.

The initiative aims to strengthen security oversight, enhance public safety, and ensure transparency in the private security sector across Punjab.
