The iconic Orange Line Metro Train Lahore is set for a major visual transformation as the Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMTA) has allowed full-scale branding on trains by national and international companies.
Under the new policy, brands can now advertise across the entire train, including its exterior body, seats, and interior panels, marking a significant shift from previous restrictions that limited advertising to stations only.
Full Branding Now Allowed
Officials confirmed that there will be no restriction on maintaining the train’s traditional orange colour. Companies can use their own colours, designs, and features, effectively turning trains into moving advertisements.
Initially, a mobile company has already fully branded one train, covering both its exterior and interior areas, including under-seat sections.
New Revenue Opportunity
The move is expected to open new revenue streams for the transit authority while offering brands high visibility through daily commuters.
PMTA has also invited more local and international brands to participate in the initiative, indicating plans for wider commercial partnerships.
From Stations to Trains
Previously, advertising was only permitted at metro stations. The latest decision expands this scope, allowing complete train branding for the first time.
The development reflects a broader strategy to monetize public transport assets while maintaining operational efficiency.
