The government has decided to introduce a modernized train service ahead of Eid ul Adha as part of efforts to improve the country’s railway system and facilitate passengers during the holiday season.
Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi said that the Awam Express is being completely upgraded and will be relaunched for the public before Eid.
According to the minister, the revamped train service will be formally inaugurated on May 24.
Hanif Abbasi said the upgraded service is aimed at providing passengers with a more comfortable, faster, and higher-quality travel experience. He added that the train will complete its journey, particularly to Karachi, in less time than before.
The minister said the government is working to modernize Pakistan’s railway infrastructure and improve travel facilities for the public through safer and better-quality services.
He further stated that the railway reforms and upgradation process is ongoing, adding that more premium train services will be launched from major cities in the future to provide passengers with improved travel options.
