Pakistan Receives Its Largest Ever LNG Cargo at Engro Terminal in Port Qasim

Engro Elengy Terminal Limited (EETL) has received and begun unloading the largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo ever handled in Pakistan, the company said on Friday.

The shipment arrived on May 13 aboard a Q-Flex class LNG carrier transporting more than 210,000 cubic metres of LNG.

The vessel was berthed and offloading operations commenced at the LNG terminal located at Port Qasim.

The discharge process involved managing tidal and draft limitations while completing a dual-parcel unloading sequence under standard operational procedures.

The operation was carried out in coordination with multiple stakeholders, including the Port Qasim Authority, Excelerate Energy, Nakilat, QatarEnergy, Sui Southern Gas Company, and Pakistan State Oil.

Industry officials said the cargo arrival comes at a time when Pakistan continues to rely on imported LNG to support domestic energy supply and power generation.

The shipment is expected to contribute to gas availability within the national energy system during the ongoing demand period.
