Tariq Glass Industries Limited (PSX: TGL) has secured land in the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park Special Economic Zone (QABP-SEZ) in Sheikhupura for the establishment of a new value-added glass manufacturing facility, marking another step in the company’s expansion strategy.
In a notification submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the company disclosed that the Authority of Quaid-e-Azam Business Park has approved the allocation of approximately 10.41 acres of land for the proposed project.
The new facility will focus on the production of value-added glass and allied products, allowing the company to diversify its product portfolio and strengthen its position in higher-margin segments of the glass industry.
Tariq Glass said the investment forms part of its broader expansion and diversification strategy aimed at enhancing manufacturing capabilities and increasing its footprint in value-added glass products.
Following the land allocation, the company will begin completing the necessary regulatory, administrative and operational requirements needed for the development and commissioning of the facility.
Established in 1978 and converted into a public limited company in 1980, Tariq Glass is among Pakistan’s leading glass manufacturers. The company operates through well-known brands in glass containers, opal glass tableware and float glass products.
Over the years, the company has expanded its manufacturing base through investments in modern production facilities and has emerged as one of the country’s largest integrated glass producers.
The decision to establish the plant within the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park Special Economic Zone allows Tariq Glass to benefit from incentives available under Pakistan’s SEZ framework, including tax and duty-related concessions designed to encourage industrial investment and exports.
