Oppo has launched the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro smartphones in China. The new Reno lineup brings flat OLED displays, 200MP triple rear cameras, large batteries, and MediaTek Dimensity chipsets.
The Oppo Reno 16 features a 6.32-inch flat OLED display with a 2640×1216 pixel resolution. The screen supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3600 nits of local peak brightness.
The Reno 16 Pro comes with a larger 6.78-inch OLED display with a 2772×1272 pixel resolution. It also supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate. Both phones support 10-bit colors and high-frequency PWM dimming.
The Reno 16 comes in Moonlit Night Black, Galaxy Purple, and Heart-Fluttering Stars color options. The Reno 16 Pro is available in Moonlit Night Black, Dreamy Blue, and Heart-Fluttering Stars shades.
The Oppo Reno 16 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 SUPER chipset. It is paired with LPDDR5X or LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
The Reno 16 Pro uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor, along with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
Both smartphones run ColorOS 16 based on Android 16. Oppo has not yet confirmed the software upgrade policy for the China variants.
Other features include stereo speakers, in-display fingerprint scanners, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type C, an IR blaster, and dual SIM 5G support. The Reno 16 supports Wi-Fi 6, while the Reno 16 Pro gets Wi-Fi 7. Both phones also carry IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings.
The Oppo Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro both feature a triple rear camera setup. This includes a 200 megapixel Samsung HP5 main camera, a 50 megapixel ultra wide camera, and a 50 megapixel Samsung JN5 periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS.
On the front, both phones have a 50 megapixel selfie camera with autofocus.
The Oppo Reno 16 packs a 6,700mAh battery with 80W fast charging. The Reno 16 Pro has a larger 7,000mAh battery with 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The Oppo Reno 16 starts at about $513 for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The 16GB + 1TB model costs about $719.
The Oppo Reno 16 Pro starts at about $543 for the 12GB + 256GB model. The top-end 16GB + 1TB version is priced at about $704.
