TCL’s FFALCON brand has launched the Thunderobot Q5AD YYDS Edition monitor in China. The 24.5-inch 1080p display offers a 300Hz refresh rate at an introductory price of only $88.
The monitor is aimed at competitive PC gamers who want high refresh rates and low latency at a budget price.
Display and Refresh Rate
The Thunderobot Q5AD uses a 24.5-inch 1080p Fast IPS panel made by CSOT. While 1080p is not a premium resolution, it remains a common choice for esports players who prefer high frame rates over 4K visuals.
The monitor runs natively at 280Hz and can be overclocked to 300Hz through DisplayPort. It also has a 1ms gray-to-gray response time.
Thunderobot has included overdrive and MPRT Plus motion blur reduction settings to keep fast-moving images clearer during gameplay.
Color and HDR Support
For a budget monitor, the Q5AD offers decent color specifications. It supports 10-bit color through 8-bit + FRC and covers 99% of the sRGB color space and 93% of the DCI P3 color space.
Thunderobot says the monitor is factory calibrated to a Delta E of less than 2, which should provide reasonably accurate colors out of the box. The display also reaches 400 nits of peak brightness and supports basic HDR400.
Design and Eye Care
The monitor has a simple design with a small hexagonal base. The stand is designed to save desk space for larger mousepads and wider mouse movement during PC gaming.
However, the stand only supports basic tilt adjustment from 5 degrees downward to 15 degrees upward. It does not support height adjustment or screen pivot.
For longer gaming sessions, the display uses hardware-level low blue light filtering and DC dimming to help reduce eye strain and screen flicker.
Gaming Features and Ports
The Thunderobot Q5AD supports AMD FreeSync Premium and is compatible with Nvidia G-Sync to help reduce screen tearing.
It also includes gaming features such as a dark scene booster for better visibility in shadows and a dynamic crosshair.
The port selection includes one DisplayPort 1.4, one HDMI 2.0 port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. DisplayPort is required for the full 300Hz refresh rate, while HDMI 2.0 is limited to 240Hz.
Users can control the monitor’s settings through a standard five-way joystick on the back.

Pretty impressive! I wanted a small TV or a gaming monitor which would include the specs required for my PS5-PRO to run at peek performance. Can anyone help me out?
