Govt Calls Crucial Meeting for Next Year’s Development Budget

The meeting of the Annual Plan Coordination Committee (APCC) is scheduled to be held on Monday, 1 June 2026 in Islamabad.

The opening session will take place at the Pak Secretariat, where Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal will deliver the keynote remarks.

The APCC session plays a key role in Pakistan’s annual budget preparation process. It reviews development priorities, sectoral allocations, and public investment plans ahead of the federal budget for FY 2026-27.

The committee also examines and recommends development schemes for both federal and provincial governments, along with macroeconomic targets including GDP growth and inflation projections for the upcoming fiscal year.

The meeting is considered an important step before finalizing the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP), which is later presented as part of the federal budget.

The session was initially expected earlier, but has now been confirmed for June 1.
