The government has officially launched the “PurAzm Pakistan” program at the national level to empower young people through education, skills development, employment opportunities, and entrepreneurship initiatives.
Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved all proposals related to youth development without any compromise on the youth budget.
He announced that Rs19 billion has been allocated for technical and vocational education during the current fiscal year, aimed at equipping young Pakistanis with market-relevant skills.
Rana Mashhood said the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, in collaboration with Generation Unlimited, is creating opportunities for youth in arts, culture, science, technology, and sports.
He noted that the youth program was first launched in 2013 during the tenure of Nawaz Sharif, with initiatives including laptop distribution, scholarships, and easy loans for students and young entrepreneurs.
The program has now expanded to include technical training, soft skills development, ethical education, and foreign language courses. Training is being offered in Japanese, Arabic, English, Korean, German, and French to improve overseas employment prospects for Pakistani youth.
According to Rana Mashhood, teams associated with the youth program are currently exploring employment opportunities for Pakistani workers in 17 countries.
He also highlighted the success of the Digital Youth Hub, launched last year, which has become a central platform with more than 800,000 registered youth and over 2,000 registered companies.
During the event, officials also announced the launch of the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund, modeled on the Punjab Education Endowment Fund, to provide financial assistance and educational support to deserving students across the country.
