Young Pakistani Batter Joins Guyana Amazon Warriors for GSL 2026

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris has been named in the Guyana Amazon Warriors squad for the third edition of the Global Super League (GSL), which will take place in Guyana from July 23 to August 1.

Mohammad Haris is the only Pakistani player included in the Warriors squad for the tournament. He will join a strong line-up led by veteran South African spinner Imran Tahir, who will captain the defending champions as they look to retain their title.

The squad also features several international stars, including Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi and New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips.

Guyana Amazon Warriors have also named a strong West Indies group, with Shimron Hetmyer, Romario Shepherd, Gudakesh Motie and Johnson Charles among the prominent players in the squad.

The tournament will feature four other teams alongside the Warriors. These include Pakistan’s Lahore Qalandars, Australia’s Perth Scorchers, the UAE’s Desert Vipers and the USA’s San Francisco Unicorns.

The inaugural edition of the GSL was won by Rangpur Riders in 2024 after they defeated Victoria by 56 runs in the final. Guyana Amazon Warriors won the 2025 title by beating the Riders by 32 runs in the championship match.

Lahore Qalandars will begin their campaign against Perth Scorchers on July 23 before facing Desert Vipers on July 24. They will then take on Guyana Amazon Warriors on July 26 and San Francisco Unicorns on July 29.

The team finishing at the top of the standings will qualify directly for the final, while the second and third-placed sides will meet in a qualifier on July 31. The final will be played on August 1.
