Authorities have closed the Babusar Top road for all types of traffic until June 6 as work continues to clear snow, glaciers and debris from the key route linking Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to an official travel advisory, ongoing snowfall and unfavorable weather conditions have slowed clearance operations in the area. Officials said heavy snow and glacier deposits remain at several points along the route, requiring extensive clearing before the road can be reopened.
The National Highway Authority (NHA) and local administration are carrying out the operation to restore safe travel conditions.
Officials noted that the road had earlier been opened on a one-way basis to facilitate travel to Babusar Top and Gilgit-Baltistan, but authorities have now suspended all traffic until the clearance work is completed.
