Dry and extremely hot weather has begun across Lahore and other parts of Punjab, with temperatures rising as the province experiences a new spell of heat.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the current temperature in Lahore is around 32 degrees Celsius. After a minimum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 41 degrees Celsius during the day.
Weather experts said the intensity of heat is likely to increase during the night as well, with minimum temperatures expected to rise from 26 to 28 degrees Celsius, making conditions feel hotter and more humid.
The PMD has warned that temperatures are expected to increase gradually over the next one to two days. The maximum temperature in Lahore could reach 42 degrees Celsius tomorrow.
Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, drink plenty of water and take precautionary measures to protect themselves from heatwave conditions.
