Pakistani Doctor Develops AI Chatbot for Skin Cancer Awareness

Pakistani skin cancer surgeon Dr Dua Khan has developed a new artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot aimed at providing early guidance on skin diseases and skin cancer awareness.

Dr Dua Khan said the chatbot has been specifically designed to focus on skin cancer and other dermatological conditions to help the public identify early warning signs and seek timely medical advice.

She explained that lack of awareness often leads people to ignore minor skin changes, which in some cases can develop into serious conditions such as skin cancer if not diagnosed early.

According to her, the AI chatbot will provide initial guidance on skin-related issues and assist users in recognising symptoms that may require medical attention. She added that the development of the system took approximately three months.

Dr Dua Khan emphasized that the tool is not a replacement for professional medical diagnosis but a supportive resource to improve public awareness and encourage early consultation with dermatologists.
