Tecno Pova 8 has been introduced with a large battery, a new rear display feature similar to Nothing phones, and cooling features for sustained gaming.
The phone has not been officially launched in Pakistan yet, but there is a high chance it will arrive here since the Pova 6 was previously available here, but not the Pova 7.
Design and Display
Tecno Pova 8 comes with a triangular camera island on the back. Although the rear module looks like it has three lenses, the phone only has one actual rear camera.
One of the main design changes is the Alive Matrix Display, a small dot-matrix display placed inside the third “lens” area of the camera island. This tiny display can be used to show quick heads-up information, such as the time or charging status.
The phone will be available in Arc White, Graphite Black, Helios Orange, and Echo Green colors.
On the front, the Tecno Pova 8 has a 6.76-inch IPS LCD with 1080p+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The display also supports a 240Hz touch sampling rate and Wet & Oily Finger Touch Recognition 2.0.
The phone is rated IP64, which means it is dust-tight and protected against water splashes.
Internals and Software
Tecno Pova 8 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset, which is based on TSMC’s 6nm process. The phone comes with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.
Tecno has also added a 15,000 mm² graphite sheet to help manage heat during heavier use. The company says the phone has been tuned to deliver stable 90fps gameplay in popular titles such as Honor of Kings and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
The Tecno Pova 8 runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16 out of the box.
Cameras
The Tecno Pova 8 has a single real camera on the back. It features a 50MP Sony Lytia 600 sensor with a 1/1.95-inch sensor size, autofocus, and 2x in-sensor zoom. The second camera cutout is just there for the show, while the third cutout is the glyph matrix.
For selfies, the phone has a 13MP front camera.
Battery and Charging
The Tecno Pova 8 has an 8,000 mAh battery. TÜV SÜD tested the phone and found that it can last two days on a single charge. The battery is also rated for more than 2,000 charging cycles while retaining at least 80% of its original capacity, which Tecno says equals around six years of use.
The phone supports 45W fast charging and can charge from 1% to 50% in 35 minutes. It also supports 10W reverse charging.
Expected Price in Pakistan
Tecno has not announced the official Pakistan price yet. But keeping in mind the price of Tecno Pova 6 and the international price of the Tecno Pova 7, and taking into account the current situation of Pakistani markets, we can make an educated guess.
Its expected price in Pakistan could be around Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 85,000, depending on taxes, availability, and the final retail variant.
Pakistan Launch
Tecno has not confirmed the Pova 8 launch date for Pakistan at this stage.
However, the phone is expected to be available soon in international markets, and Pakistan could be among the markets where Tecno brings the device later. A local launch would depend on Tecno’s regional release plans, PTA approvals, and retailer availability.
For now, Pakistani buyers should treat the price and launch timing as expected details until Tecno officially announces the Pova 8 for the local market.
