Other cities also witnessed severe temperatures, including Rohri at 48.5°C, Sukkur, Hyderabad, and Padidan at 48°C, while Khairpur reached 47°C.

Karachi recorded a maximum temperature of 40°C, with relative humidity levels measured at 79 percent in the morning and 54 percent in the evening, intensifying the discomfort for residents.

Meteorological officials said the high-pressure system affecting the region is expected to weaken gradually, bringing some relief in the coming days. For Friday, hot and humid weather is forecast in Karachi, with temperatures likely to range between 36°C and 38°C.

The Met Office has also predicted the possibility of dust storms and light rain at isolated locations in the plain areas of Sindh from Thursday through June 13.

Authorities have advised residents to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, stay hydrated, and take precautionary measures to prevent heat-related illnesses as extreme weather conditions continue across the province.
