Social media platforms, particularly Meta services including Instagram and Facebook, are down in Pakistan and the rest of the world. There are dozens of disruption reports for each website on DownDetector for several countries around the world. There have been reports on Reddit as well.
At the time of writing, the web versions of Facebook and Instagram are not loading at all. The app versions appear to be working, at least partially. The Facebook app is failing to load some elements, including Stories, but is working fine with Reels and other browsing in Pakistan.
Globally, users are reporting issues with loading feeds, sending messages, refreshing the app, and more.
As for Instagram in Pakistan, the app appears to be working fine mostly, but the web version is completely inaccessible.
It is unclear when the disruption will be resolved.
