Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has directed authorities to accelerate the implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and introduce cashless electronic toll collection on major highways and motorways across the country.
The directions were issued during a high-level review meeting at the National Highways and Motorway Police Headquarters, where the minister also ordered the immediate inclusion of the M2 Motorway in the ITS program.
According to a statement, Abdul Aleem Khan directed authorities to integrate cameras, security infrastructure and communication networks under a unified technological framework. He also called for the introduction of a free-flow electronic toll collection system on major routes to improve travel efficiency and reduce delays.
The minister instructed that the electronic tolling network be linked with the Safe City security system, saying the integration would support traffic management and assist law enforcement agencies in crime prevention.
He also directed authorities to ensure the presence of Motorway Police personnel at all motorway service areas and provide uniform facilities for commuters across the network.
In addition, Abdul Aleem Khan ordered the deployment of Rescue 1122 staff, fire brigades and fully equipped ambulances at service areas along motorways and national highways.

I have been to India recently and can mention few others from US eg between New Jersey Philadelphia and NewWark ….our motorways are better. Someones implementation is ok. It wasnt Aleem Khan im sure lol. Relax buddy, dont look at negatives always and try to appreciate. You reminded me of a funny incident. My brother once ran out of fuel on the motorway so he called up motorway police. They came along with fuel but made him pay extra as service charges like if fuel was Rs. 200 (quite an old incident), they gave him two litres and sought an extra hundred for their help.

AOA there ary many toll Plaza on the motor way not working properly,just like Murree Motorway toll Plaza ,M-2 Tallian toll Plaza not working regularly,people operate Manualy of M.Tag side ,Camera ,Sencer system not working automatically,required to Maint & Replace the system.thnks
