The Consul General of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Dr. Bakheet Ateeq, has directed special measures to protect workers during the ongoing heatwave in Karachi.
In a statement, Dr. Ateeq instructed that work be suspended between 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. amid the extreme weather conditions.
He also directed that workers be provided with shaded rest areas, clean drinking water and other necessary facilities to help protect them from the effects of intense heat.
The consul general said ensuring the safety of workers during severe weather conditions is a human and moral responsibility.
