Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police has decided to introduce an advanced satellite communication system to improve emergency response and maintain communication during security or crisis situations across the province.
According to police officials, work on the new communication network is already underway. The system is aimed at strengthening police communication in remote and hard-to-reach areas, where mobile and telephone networks often face disruptions.
The project will initially be launched in Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and other remote districts before being expanded to other parts of the province.
Officials said the satellite-based system will serve as a backup communication network during emergencies, especially in situations where mobile phone or telephone services are suspended.
A dedicated command and control center will also be established to monitor and operate the system. Special teams of experts will be deployed at the center to manage its operations.
Police officials believe the new system will significantly improve the force’s emergency response capacity and help teams reach affected areas on time during sudden incidents, disasters, or other crises.
The use of satellite technology is also expected to support public safety and make rescue and relief operations faster and more effective during emergencies.
