Punjab Eases Transfer Restrictions for Teachers

The Punjab School Education Department has decided to lift restrictions on teacher transfers during the summer vacations and open a transfer round for selected categories of educators.

According to official instructions, teachers awaiting posting after promotion, those in the post-waiting category and applicants seeking mutual transfers will be eligible to participate in the transfer round after June 18.

The department has directed all Chief Executive Officers (Education) across Punjab to immediately update and tag the records of promoted teachers in the School Information System (SIS) to ensure their participation in the transfer process.

A formal communication has also been sent to district authorities, instructing them to update the data of promoted teachers on the SIS platform without delay.

Officials said tagging of promoted teachers in the system has been made mandatory for participation in the transfer round. Failure to complete the process on time could affect a teacher’s eligibility and create difficulties during transfers.

The School Education Department has instructed all concerned officers to complete the required actions promptly to facilitate the transfer process during the summer break.
