Transporters Demand Emergency Services After Every 30-40 KMs on National Highways

All Pakistan Bus Owners Public Transport Association has urged the government to put in place emergency services every 30-40 kilometers on national highways to mitigate the sufferings of passengers in case of accidents.

In a meeting chaired by of transporters body president, Rana Muhammad Asghar, transporters discussed road safety and emergency response measures on national highways and motorways.

Rana Muhammad Asghar urged the government to establish service areas equipped with ambulances, fire brigades and other emergency facilities at intervals of every 30 to 40 kilometers along national highways.

He said such facilities would help save precious human lives by ensuring a prompt response to road accidents, vehicle fires and other emergencies.

He noted that in the event of accidents or fires caused by the explosion of vehicle-mounted cylinders, immediate access to emergency services could significantly reduce casualties and property damage.

He also laid emphasis on transporters to ensure their drivers get proper rest/sleep before sending vehicles on long-distance routes, particularly to northern areas, in order to minimize the risk of accidents caused by fatigue.

He said the initiative would improve road safety and enable passengers to travel with greater confidence and security.

The meeting was attended by transporters Chaudhry Tariq Gujjar, Malik Achhu Dogar, Mian Wali Muhammad, Rana Wakeel, Mehboob Khan Niazi, Rana Iqbal, Javed Dogar, Nasir Dogar, Rana Munawar, Rana Irfan and other representatives of the transport sector.
