Pakistan secured its seventh liquefied natural gas cargo on Monday since tensions escalated in the Middle East following the Iran-US war.
The LNG carrier MRAIKH was scheduled to arrive at Port Qasim carrying 170,148 cubic meters of LNG from Ras Laffan, Qatar. The shipment is being supplied under a long-term agreement priced at 13.37 percent of Brent crude.
According to shipping details, the vessel departed from Ras Laffan and was recently expected to reach the outer anchorage at Port Qasim.
The National Crisis Management Cell helped arrange five LNG cargoes from QatarEnergy since late April to ensure uninterrupted gas supplies amid uncertainty in regional energy markets.
With the arrival of MRAIKH, Pakistan will have received seven LNG cargoes since late April as the government seeks to safeguard energy supplies and reduce risks stemming from geopolitical tensions in the region.
