Pakistan’s women’s cricket team and head coach Wahab Riaz were reportedly spotted enjoying fast food at a Birmingham food outlet during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England.
The video was originally shared by StackShack UK on Instagram, where the outlet posted that the Pakistan women’s cricket team had visited its restaurant. Although the post was positive, it soon drew wider attention as fans connected the visit with Pakistan’s disappointing run in the tournament.
Pakistan had already struggled in the group stage and failed to win any of its first three matches. The team became the first side to be eliminated from the competition after defeats against India, South Africa and Bangladesh.
Pakistan began its campaign with a 64-run defeat against India at Edgbaston, Birmingham. India scored 170/6 in 20 overs before bowling Pakistan out for 106 in 17 overs.
The team then came close against South Africa but could not finish the game. Pakistan posted 126/9 in 20 overs, while South Africa reached 127/8 in 16.5 overs to win by two wickets.
Pakistan’s exit was confirmed after a 23-run defeat against Bangladesh in Southampton. Bangladesh made 123/6 in 20 overs, while Pakistan were restricted to 100/8 in reply.
Across the three matches, Pakistan managed scores of 106, 126/9 and 100/8, failing to cross 126 in any innings. The results exposed the team’s batting problems and left Pakistan winless in the group stage.
The viral restaurant visit added further pressure on Wahab Riaz and the squad, with fans questioning the team’s focus, fitness and preparation during a disappointing World Cup campaign.
Pakistan still has two group-stage matches left, against Australia in Leeds on June 23 and the Netherlands in Bristol, but the team seems already out of contention for the next round.
