Vivo X Fold 6 Could Cost Nearly $500 Higher Than X Fold 5

Vivo’s upcoming X Fold 6 could cost more than 40% more than its predecessor when it launches in China on June 26.

A leaked image suggests that the base model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will cost 9,999 yuan, or around $1,475. The Vivo X Fold 5 launched with the same memory configuration for 6,999 yuan, or around $1,035.

Vivo has opened pre-orders for the foldable but has not confirmed its official prices.

The leaked pricing points to the following configurations:

  • 12GB/256GB: 9,999 yuan, or around $1,475
  • 12GB/512GB: 10,999 yuan, or around $1,625
  • 16GB/512GB: 11,499 yuan, or around $1,700
  • 16GB/1TB: 12,499 yuan, or around $1,845

The possible increase may reflect higher processor, RAM, and storage costs. Final prices will be announced when Vivo officially launches the phone.

Confirmed Specifications

Ahead of the foldable’s launch, Vivo has officially revealed core specifications for the X Fold 6.

Display and Build Specs

The Vivo X Fold 6 will feature an 8.02-inch flexible inner display made with Samsung’s M14 display material. The outer screen will use Vivo’s second-generation Armour Glass, while the phone will also include an upgraded folding hinge.

It will support IPX8 and IPX9 water resistance and IP5X dust resistance. Vivo also says the device can be folded while underwater.

The phone will come in Blue Hole, Salt Lake, Polar Night, and Black Gold Edition colour options. The Black Gold Edition is expected to be limited to the top model with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

Hardware and Software Specs

The foldable will use the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition processor with Vivo’s Blue Crystal tuning. Vivo has added its self-developed 1+4 communication chipset system to improve connectivity. The X Fold 6 will be available with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and between 256GB and 1TB of storage.

It will run OriginOS 6 Fold, which Vivo developed for foldable screens and large-display multitasking. An upgraded Atomic Workbench feature will support serial and parallel task modes, allowing several applications to run together on one screen.

The phone will also include AI-assisted workflows, a desktop-style interface, and PC-level WPS support for handling documents and other work.

Camera Specs

The phone will feature a 200MP ZEISS main camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and CIPA 4.5-level image stabilisation. It will also include a 50MP ZEISS APO periscope telephoto camera using a 1/1.95-inch Sony LYT-602 sensor.

Vivo’s V3+ imaging chip will handle additional image processing. The device will support the optional ZEISS Teleconverter G2 accessory, full-range zoom flash, and Dolby Vision video recording at up to 4K and 60 frames per second.

Battery Specs

Every configuration will include an equivalent 7,000 mAh battery.

The battery combines Vivo’s fifth-generation silicon-carbon technology with a third-generation semi-solid-state design. The system is intended to provide a larger capacity without making the foldable significantly thicker.
