Apple has started selling refurbished MacBook Neo models in the United States one day after increasing the price of the new laptop by $100.
The refurbished entry-level model with 256GB of storage and no Touch ID costs $599. This was also the price of a new MacBook Neo before Apple raised it to $699.
The higher-end refurbished model with 512GB of storage and Touch ID costs $679.
Apple previously sold the new 512GB MacBook Neo with Touch ID for $699.
The refurbished version is therefore $20 cheaper than the model’s price before the increase. A new unit with the same configuration now costs $799, making the refurbished model $120 cheaper.
The 256GB refurbished model costs $100 less than its current new price but offers no savings compared with what Apple charged for a new unit before the increase.
Apple includes the same one-year limited warranty with its certified refurbished products that it provides with new devices.
The company says refurbished products undergo full functionality testing, while any defective parts identified during the process are replaced.
Each device also goes through cleaning and inspection before being repackaged. The refurbished MacBook Neo includes a USB-C cable and a 20W power adapter in the box.
