The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast humid weather and partly cloudy skies in Karachi over the next 24 hours, with drizzle expected in some areas during the morning and night.
According to the PMD, Karachi’s maximum temperature will range between 34°C and 36°C, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 29°C. Humidity reached 78%, and sea breezes continued to blow at around 15 kilometers per hour, providing some relief from the heat.
In contrast, Peshawar is expected to experience clear skies and intense heat, with temperatures likely to climb to 41°C. The city’s minimum temperature was recorded at 26°C, with humidity at 43%.
The PMD also forecast rain in most upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the next 24 hours, while hot and dry conditions will continue across the province’s plains.
In its monthly outlook, the weather department warned that above-normal temperatures are likely to persist across Pakistan, particularly in southern regions, including Sindh, central Punjab, and eastern Balochistan.
The PMD also expects near-normal to slightly below-normal rainfall during June, increasing the risk of prolonged heatwave conditions.
Despite the lower rainfall forecast, the department cautioned that isolated heavy downpours could still cause urban flooding in poorly drained and low-lying areas of major cities.
Authorities have advised citizens to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and monitor official weather updates as conditions may change.
