Drug Addict Slits Child’s Throat for Rs. 20

Karachi Police has reported a boy was critically injured in Hijrat Colony after a drug addict allegedly slit his throat with a sharp blade during a dispute over Rs. 20.

According to police, the incident took place in a forested area near the seashore, where the suspect stopped the child and demanded money. When the boy told him he did not have Rs. 20, the suspect attacked him, slashed his throat, and fled the scene.

The injured child was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The attack triggered concern among local residents, who said the area has seen a growing presence of drug addicts. According to locals, groups of addicts have set up camps near the seashore and often harass residents.

They said the addicts are frequently involved in robberies, assaults, and other street crimes. Residents claimed that passersby and people living nearby are often stopped, beaten, or robbed.

Following the incident, police launched an investigation and later arrested the suspect involved in the attack.

Locals have demanded immediate action against drug addicts operating in the area and called on law enforcement agencies to clear the camps and improve security before more such incidents take place.
