Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has started production from its recently discovered Bobi Deep-1 oil well in Sindh, fast-tracking the project to boost domestic energy supplies and reduce reliance on imported fuel.
In a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), OGDCL said Bobi Deep-1, located in the Bobi and Dhamraki Mining Lease in Sanghar district, is currently producing around 2,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD).
The company said production began only weeks after it announced the discovery on June 3. To accelerate commercialization, OGDCL completed the installation of a 4-inch, 1.5-kilometre flowline connecting the well to the Bobi Plant, enabling early production from the field.
OGDCL is the operator of the Bobi and Dhamraki Mining Lease with a 100 percent working interest.
The company said bringing Bobi Deep-1 into production marks another milestone in monetizing Pakistan’s indigenous hydrocarbon resources and will help strengthen domestic energy supplies while reducing dependence on imported oil.
