The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to launch a large-scale operation against illegal occupants residing in government flats located in the Aabpara area of Sector G-6. As part of the plan, the CDA has formally requested security assistance from the district administration and Islamabad Police for an eviction operation scheduled to begin on July 2, 2026.
According to an official letter issued by the authority, the planned action is based on judgments of the Islamabad High Court and the Supreme Court. The letter states that individuals occupying CDA government flats in Aabpara without legal authorization have no lawful right to continue residing in the properties, and eviction proceedings will therefore be carried out.
Anticipating possible resistance during the operation, the CDA has sought the deployment of the Station House Officer (SHO) of Aabpara Police Station, police reserve personnel, the Anti-Riot Force, Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) officers, and traffic police. The authority has also requested the presence of an Assistant Commissioner or Sub-Divisional Magistrate to ensure the operation is conducted in accordance with legal requirements.
The communication further directs the CDA’s Directorate of Enforcement, Directorate of Works, Directorate of Maintenance, and other relevant departments to provide the necessary staff, machinery, and logistical support to facilitate the eviction drive. Officials have been instructed to ensure all operational arrangements are completed before the scheduled action.
The move comes 20 days after the CDA took notice of the issue and follows a seven-day notice period issued to occupants. The authority is expected to proceed with the operation as planned, with support from law enforcement agencies and the district administration to reclaim government-owned residential properties.
