Total cement dispatches rose 7.21 percent to 50.52 million tons during fiscal year 2025-26, driven by robust domestic demand despite a slight decline in exports.
According to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), domestic cement sales increased 9.5 percent to 41.51 million tons in FY26 from 37.91 million tons a year earlier. Export dispatches, however, declined 2.19 percent to 9.01 million tons from 9.21 million tons in the previous fiscal year.
The industry also ended the fiscal year on a strong monthly note. Total cement dispatches in June 2026 rose 18.38 percent year-on-year to 4.33 million tons, supported by a 26.78 percent increase in local sales to 3.54 million tons. Export dispatches during the month fell 8.73 percent to 789,840 tons.
North-based manufacturers recorded total dispatches of 35.50 million tons during FY26, up 7.53 percent from the previous year. Domestic sales from northern mills climbed 10.83 percent, although exports from the region dropped sharply by 53.85 percent.
South-based manufacturers posted total dispatches of 15.02 million tons, an increase of 6.48 percent over FY25. While domestic sales grew 3.18 percent, exports from southern mills rose 9.36 percent, reaching 8.23 million tons during the year.
APCMA said it remains optimistic about cement demand in the coming months, citing expectations of stronger domestic construction activity and stable export demand.
The association also expressed hope that easing geopolitical tensions would help lower energy and fuel costs, improving operating conditions for the industry.
