Traffic Challans in Punjab Will Now Come with Photos and Videos Evidence

The Punjab government has officially launched an evidence-based traffic challan system across the province to make the process more transparent and efficient.

Under the new system, every traffic ticket will be backed by complete evidence, including photographs and video footage of the violation.

According to a Traffic Police spokesperson, motorists who violate traffic laws will receive an SMS alert from 8070. The message will contain a link where citizens can view images and videos related to their traffic violation.

All challans across Punjab will now be issued through the Traffic Police One App, with supporting visual evidence attached. The system has been introduced on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

DIG Traffic Punjab Muhammad Waqas Nazeer said the new system will help reduce unnecessary disputes between motorists and traffic police, while also saving time for both sides.

He added that evidence-based challans will also support legal action against people who fail to pay their traffic fines, as each case will be backed by clear and verifiable proof.

The DIG said the use of modern technology is improving the traffic police’s public-friendly services, adding that prompt, transparent, and fair justice is the foundation of a progressive and balanced society.
