Secretary Auqaf, Hajj, Religious and Minority Affairs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Atta-ur-Rehman, chaired a performance review meeting on Saturday to assess the security situation of minority places of worship across the province.
The meeting, aimed at establishing more effective protection measures, was attended by DIG Security Sajjad Khan, SSP Security Sanaullah Khan, and relevant officials from the Auqaf Department.
Secretary Atta-ur-Rehman directed department staff to equip these places of worship with modern security facilities, including CCTV cameras, walk-through gates, metal detectors, searchlights, and fire safety equipment.
He also emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination between the police and the Auqaf Department. The goal of these enhanced measures was to provide a safe, peaceful environment for minority communities during their worship.
He said that the KP government was committed to taking every possible step to protect life, property, and the religious freedom of all its citizens, with a special focus on minority communities.
