Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi has extended the deadline for installing QR panic buttons in public transport vehicles, online cabs, and rickshaws until July 10.
The extension has been given as part of the ongoing campaign against vehicles operating without the required QR panic button system. Rickshaw unions, online cab services, and public transport operators have been directed to complete the installation process within the new deadline.
The CTO Lahore warned that strict action will be taken against violators after July 10.
According to Lahore Traffic Police, QR panic buttons have already been installed in more than 12,000 online cabs and rickshaws across the city. Special traffic police teams are also working in 45 sectors of Lahore to facilitate the installation process.
Shirazi said four new licensing centers have also been set up on the demand of rickshaw unions. The centers will help citizens complete registration and other necessary procedures more quickly.
He urged all concerned transporters to use the extended deadline to meet the legal requirements and avoid action after the deadline expires.
