The PERA Force Bahawalpur has issued a stern warning to traders and shopkeepers, vowing legal action against those involved in the overpricing of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and other essential commodities.
Mujtaba Manzoor, SDO of the PERA Force and Special Magistrate of the Price Control Committee, urged citizens to immediately report any merchant selling goods at rates above the officially notified rates.
He emphasized that the Punjab government is committed to protecting consumers from unfair pricing and that the department is working closely with the district administration to monitor the market.
Residents of Bahawalpur can lodge complaints directly at the SDO’s office or via official channels. Manzoor assured the public that all complaints would be processed promptly to ensure that profiteers face appropriate penalties.
“Compliance with government directives is our top priority,” the SDO stated, adding that overpricing is unacceptable and the department will continue its efforts to ensure the availability of basic items at regulated prices across the district.
