The appointment brings to the board a seasoned HR leader with more than two decades of experience in people strategy, organizational transformation, leadership development, and talent management across Pakistan and international markets.
At PTCL, Umer Farid leads the company’s people strategy, overseeing organizational effectiveness, talent development, and leadership initiatives. Industry observers believe his appointment comes at a time when organizations across Pakistan are increasingly focusing on building future-ready workforces amid rapid technological advancement, digital transformation, and evolving talent expectations. His experience in leadership transformation and organizational effectiveness is expected to contribute to PSTD’s efforts to strengthen professional development, foster closer collaboration between industry and the learning community, and support more digitally enabled approaches to workforce development.
