The Lahore District Education Authority has accelerated its crackdown on unregistered private educational institutions, deciding to seal 30 schools across the city for failing to meet legal requirements.
Despite receiving multiple notices to complete their registration, these institutions failed to comply within the given timeframe. Consequently, the education department has formally requested the district administration’s cooperation to proceed with sealing the premises.
In a parallel development, the authority has extended the deadline for the city-wide survey of both registered and unregistered schools. Tariq Mahmood, CEO of the Education Authority, stated that the comprehensive survey of all institutions will conclude today.
Official data reveals that more than 744 schools have received registration notices so far. Underlining the government’s stance, Mahmood affirmed that legal proceedings will continue against all non-compliant educational centers to ensure they adhere to provincial standards.
