Islamabad Airport’s Main Runway to be Partially Closed

Islamabad International Airport has announced the temporary closure of its main runway for scheduled maintenance for 11 days, from July 7 to July 17.

Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) Spokesperson confirmed to ProPakistani that the runway will remain closed daily from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm to facilitate the removal of rubber deposits left by aircraft tyres. The maintenance work aims to improve runway surface conditions and ensure safer aircraft operations.

During the scheduled closure hours, the main runway will not be available for the movement of any type of aircraft. However, flight operations will continue through the airport’s alternative runway to minimize disruptions for passengers and airlines.
