Trump Ends Ceasefire With Massive US Missile Strikes Inside Iran

President Donald Trump n Wednesday announced the end of ceasefire with Iran after the US military carried out large-scale missile strikes on more than 80 Iranian military sites.

The remarks came just hours after US forces launched coordinated attacks in response to alleged Iranian strikes on commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the operation targeted dozens of Iranian military sites to impose “significant costs” on Tehran for attacking merchant ships and endangering civilian crews in international waters.

Despite declaring the ceasefire effectively ended, Trump suggested the US remains open to negotiations, leaving the possibility of renewed diplomatic engagement if Iran refrains from further attacks.

Iran responded within hours, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claiming responsibility for missile and drone attacks on 85 US military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait. Tehran described the American operation as a violation of the ceasefire and vowed a “crushing response.”

Despite declaring the ceasefire effectively finished, Trump signaled that negotiations remain possible, suggesting the US is still open to talks if Iran halts further attacks.

Responding to the overnight operation, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte called the US strikes “absolutely necessary”.
