Toyota Corolla Cross HEV Gets Massive Price Hike in Pakistan

In a major setback for hybrid vehicle buyers, Indus Motor Company (IMC) has significantly increased the prices of its locally assembled Toyota Corolla Cross HEV lineup following changes to the government’s tax policy.

According to official information, the revised Retail Selling Prices (RSPs) came into effect on July 1, 2026.

New Toyota Corolla Cross HEV Prices

The latest price revision applies only to the hybrid electric variants of the Corolla Cross, while petrol models remain unchanged.

Variant New Price (PKR) Old Price (PKR) Increase (PKR)
Corolla Cross HEV X 10,299,000 8,935,000 1,364,000
Corolla Cross HEV 9,849,000 8,535,000 1,314,000

The sharp increase follows the withdrawal of reduced General Sales Tax (GST) rates for locally assembled hybrid vehicles under the Federal Budget 2026–27.

Previously, hybrid electric vehicles benefited from lower GST rates introduced to encourage the adoption of environmentally friendly vehicles. However, with the expiry of these tax concessions, hybrid models are now subject to the standard tax regime, resulting in substantially higher prices.

Booking and Pricing Conditions

According to IMC, the revised prices apply to all new bookings of Corolla Cross HEV variants made on or after July 1, 2026, subject to vehicle availability. The quoted prices are Ex-Factory Karachi and include applicable Sales Tax, Federal Excise Duty (FED), Capital Value Tax (CVT), and the NEV Levy.

However, transportation charges, transit insurance, and Advance Income Tax/Withholding Tax (WHT) are not included and will be charged separately based on the buyer’s filer or non-filer status.

The company also clarified that the announced prices are provisional, meaning the final price at the time of delivery may change if there are further revisions to government taxes, duties, import policies, foreign exchange rates, or other fiscal measures.
