The Iranian Embassy in India has strongly slammed Indian military analyst Gaurav Arya for spreading “fake news” and propaganda about the funeral ceremonies for the martyred Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In a statement posted on X, the embassy said the funeral and burial ceremonies were conducted with “utmost order, dignity, security, and tranquility” across five cities in two countries.
More than 40 million people participated in the ceremonies, which concluded without a single security incident.
The Iran foreign office in India said the “enemies of the Iranian nation and their media clowns” were attempting to undermine the extraordinary display of national unity by spreading fabricated narratives.
It further urged critics to “open your eyes” and recognize the strength and resilience of Iran and its people, instead of believing “illusions and propaganda.”
The statement came in response to social media posts by Indian military analyst Gaurav Arya, who had questioned the official narrative surrounding the funeral ceremonies.
