Cement Prices in Northern Region Suddenly Increased

Cement prices in Pakistan’s northern region have increased by Rs. 25-30/ per bag, according to market checks by JS Global, marking the latest price hike as demand for construction materials continues to strengthen.

The prices in the North region have increased to around Rs. 1,515/bag this week.

This comes after a gradual decline over the last two months, with prices falling by Rs. 40/bag amid easing geopolitical tensions and a corresponding decrease in coal prices.

The increase comes after Pakistan’s cement industry posted a strong recovery during fiscal year 2025-26. According to the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), total cement dispatches rose 7.21 percent to 50.5 million tons, driven by a 9.5 percent increase in domestic sales as construction activity improved.

The sector has also been supported by lower interest rates and improving construction activity.

The latest price increase could raise construction costs for consumers and developers, particularly in northern Pakistan, where cement demand has strengthened alongside the recovery in the construction sector.
