Traffic on both carriageways of the Malir River Bridge on Karachi’s National Highway will remain closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on July 18 and 19 due to construction work on the under-construction Malir Expressway, the Karachi Traffic Police announced on Friday.
The temporary closure, which falls within the jurisdiction of the Malir City Traffic Section, is intended to facilitate the safe and timely completion of development work.
According to the traffic police, motorists travelling from Quaidabad should take a U-turn at the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Expressway and continue towards Malir City. Those approaching from Malook Hotel on the National Highway should pass beneath the Malir River Bridge and proceed towards Steel Mills.
The Karachi Traffic Police has urged commuters to use the designated alternative routes and follow traffic instructions. Traffic personnel will remain deployed at the site to assist motorists and maintain the flow of traffic.
Citizens can contact the Traffic Police Helpline (1915) for assistance or tune in to Sindh Police FM Radio 88.6 for the latest traffic updates.
