Xiaomi’s Electric Shaver is Just $36 With 90-Day Battery Life

Xiaomi has launched a new Mijia Electric Shaver on its Youpin platform in China, offering several premium grooming features at a low price.

The shaver has a standard retail price of around $36. However, Xiaomi is offering it at an introductory price of around $29.

Since Xiaomi gadgets are launching actively in Pakistan as well, there is a chance that this product will arrive in the local market too.

Design and Shaving System

The new Mijia Electric Shaver uses a three-head rotary design with a dual-ring cutting system.

Its blades use an irregular corrugated foil made through metal injection molding. Xiaomi has paired this with concave stainless steel blades to guide facial hair into the cutting area more efficiently.

According to the company, this design helps reduce pulling and snagging, which are common problems in cheaper rotary shavers. Xiaomi claims the new system improves shaving efficiency by about 48 percent compared with its previous model.

The Xiaomi Mijia Electric Shaver is available in Meteor Gray, Sky Blue, and Glacier Silver.

Smart Motor Adjustment

The shaver is powered by a motor capable of 5 million cutting actions per minute.

It also includes an onboard chip that monitors blade resistance around 100 times per second. When the shaver detects thicker beard areas, it automatically increases motor power and blade speed.

This helps maintain stable performance and reduces the chance of the motor slowing down during shaving.

Skin Comfort and Floating Head

Xiaomi has also focused on reducing skin irritation.

The shaving heads use a micro-bead coating to lower friction against the skin. The foil is made from low-nickel stainless steel and complies with European nickel release standards, which may help users with metal sensitivity.

The head assembly also uses a 360-degree floating frame, allowing the blades to stay close to curved areas such as the jawline and chin.

Battery and Charging

The Mijia Electric Shaver charges through USB-C and takes around two hours to fully charge.

Xiaomi advertises up to 90 days of battery life, though this figure is based on one minute of shaving per day. The shaver also supports use while plugged in, so users can continue shaving if the battery runs out midway.

Water Resistance and Cleaning

The shaver has an IPX7 water resistance rating, allowing both wet and dry shaving.

It also supports full rinsing after use and includes a one-button pop-up hinge for cleaning hair from the shaving head.

Other features include a travel lock and a basic LED battery display.

Availability

For now, the product has launched in China through Xiaomi’s Youpin platform. Xiaomi has not confirmed global availability yet.

The company has also recently introduced other smart home and grooming products, including a smart bathroom heater and a smart water flosser with a color display, app support, and up to 105 days of battery life.
