KP Approves Pension Raise for Government Retirees

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved a 7 percent increase in the net pension of provincial government pensioners, according to an official notification reported by ARY News on Thursday.

The notification said the increase will apply to all eligible provincial pensioners and will be calculated on the basis of the net pension being drawn as of June 30, 2026. The revised pension will take effect from July 1, 2026.

Pensioners who retire on or after that date will also qualify for the increase under the prescribed rules. The government said the increase will also apply to family pension and compassionate allowance cases.

However, the notification clarified that the revised benefit will not apply to any special additional pension. Pensioners living abroad will also receive the increase, subject to the relevant terms and conditions.
