The Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has introduced a one-window complaint resolution system, strengthened measures against examination cheating, and upgraded its paper-marking process as part of efforts to improve transparency and merit.
BISE Rawalpindi Chairman Professor Dr. Iqbal Mahmood shared the developments during an interview with The Express Tribune, saying the board aims to become one of Punjab’s leading examination authorities through digital governance, automation, computerization, and a modern command and control system.
He said the board has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against examination malpractice and claimed that the cheating network operating during examinations has been dismantled.
Dr. Mahmood said public trust is the foundation of a credible examination system, adding that the board’s priority is to ensure examinations are conducted in a transparent, impartial, and merit-based manner.
He said the board plans to replace conventional administrative practices with a fully digital and automated system capable of delivering faster, more efficient, and transparent public services. According to him, technology, data-driven decision-making, and transparent systems will play a central role in the board’s operations.
The chairman also announced plans to further upgrade the board’s command and control center to enable real-time monitoring of examination centers, saying transparency will remain the board’s guiding principle.
